Welcome to Colgate Primary School.
We are very proud of our school and our goal is that all children thrive in our care. We have a strong team approach to running our school and this very much involves the children. We believe that everyone can reach their best when they are happy, settled and engaged. This is what we strive for. Our values are Leadership, Inclusion, Caring and Communication. We hope that through our website and when you visit, you will see and feel these values in action around you. We have a strong focus on our outdoor learning curriculum which results in a vibrant, hands on approach to lessons using our beautiful outdoor spaces. Inclusion is one of our values which means inclusion for all learners. Our teachers are very experienced in supporting learning through a Quality First Teaching approach. They adapt their practice and their lessons to enable our more able learners to feel appropriately challenged. Our strong teaching also enables any barriers to be overcome for children with additional learning needs. Alongside our experienced teachers, we have a team of highly trained support assistants who have great relationships with our children.
We are lucky to have great facilities at Colgate Primary School including a well-resourced library, large playing fields, interactive Clevertouch screens in each learning space, outdoor sensory spaces, a pond, a variety of IT equipment including iPads and further sports and play resources.
We are also fortunate to be one of a few schools in the county that have their own kitchen enabling us to cook fresh food on site at lunch times. The menus change from week to week and offer a balance of nutritious and healthy meals. School lunches are very popular, delicious and competitively priced.
